Robert J. Martino, DDS

Family & Cosmetic Dentistry

Dr. Martino received his undergraduate Bachelor of Arts degree from NYU in 1992, where he majored in English and minored in both the Classics and pre-medical studies. He received his DDS from Columbia University School of Dental and Oral Surgery in 1996, graduating with top honors and inducted into the national academic association Omicron Kappa Upsilon.

While a student at Columbia, Dr. Martino was awarded an academic scholarship from the United States Navy. He began his role as a Navy dentist upon graduation, attending Officer Indoctrination School in Newport, RI, before reporting for duty at Navy Submarine Base Kings Bay in Georgia. Following this duty station, Dr. Martino became the Dental Officer aboard the USS Detroit (AOE-4), where he served two years as the sole dentist aboard the ship. During this time, the ship did tours of duty throughout the Atlantic and spent six months on deployment to the Mediterranean Sea and the Persian Gulf, participating in Operation Desert Fox and Operation Southern Watch with the USS Enterprise (CVN-65) Battle Group.

Dr. Martino has also served on the Admissions Committee of the Columbia University College of Dental Medicine. He has owned his practice in Clark since 1999 and has built a welcoming family practice focused solely on his patients' dental health and well-being, approaching his work with care, compassion, skill, and professionalism. Dr. Martino is most proud of the high level of care his practice provides and the professionalism of his incredible team, and he attributes the practice's success directly to them.

It's important to Dr. Martino to stay educated on all current advances and trends in dentistry, and he attends monthly seminars to stay on top of them. His office uses the latest technologies in digital dentistry and conservative dental treatments. Dr. Martino is a firm believer in keeping his patients educated and informed on the importance of oral health, and he'll spend as much time as necessary to make sure his patients understand their own oral health and its link to their overall systemic health.

Outside of the office, Dr. Martino enjoys spending time with his wife of over 25 years, Jean, and his two children, Sophia and Cooper. Few patients know it, but Dr. Martino has been an avid pianist for 50 years - it's one of his true joys. His other interests include photography, traveling, collecting baseball cards, attending concerts (especially Bruce Springsteen), and going to Yankees games - he and his son are trying to see a game at every Major League stadium, and they're halfway there. Many patients do know that Dr. Martino loves to travel to Disney World with his family and is the resident Disney expert in the office, so next time you visit, be sure to pick his brain about all things Disney.

Debbie

Debbie has been working for Dr. Martino since June of 2021 but has been a dental hygienist for 35 years! Debbie grew up in Sussex County, NJ, and has been married to her husband for over 25 years. Debbie is very proud of her two daughters, Alyssa and Taylor. Their family has a rescue dog named Delilah - what's extra special about this adoption is that Debbie's brother and his wife, who live right next door, adopted Delilah's brother Jax! So not only does Debbie live next door to her brother, but so does Delilah. Her daughter also recently rescued a tabby cat named Weasel.

When Debbie isn't caring for her patients' oral health, she enjoys spending time outdoors. Whether it's a hike by the lake or soaking up sun on the beach, Debbie loves it all. She enjoys spending time in her garden, and in the winter she loves to ski. One of her favorite vacation spots is the Outer Banks, where her family has been vacationing for over 20 years. If you've met Debbie, you know she loves a good laugh, and there's plenty of laughter to be had in our office.

Ask Debbie what she loves most about her job, and she'll tell you it's meeting people and providing them with quality care - she believes that helping patients achieve a bright, beautiful smile also helps them maintain their overall health. Being a people person, Debbie loves establishing relationships with her patients and getting to know them. She's become an integral member of the team and has earned her own following of loyal patients who appreciate her skill, her gentleness, her commitment to oral health, and her fun personality.

Laura is an avid reader and loves to exercise. Spending time at the beach is one of her favorite things to do, and she looks forward to summer every year. Laura's pride and joy are her grandchildren, and she loves spending time with them and playing with them. Laura cherishes the relationships she's built with her patients over the years and loves helping her coworkers, whom she considers friends. She's a very compassionate hygienist, dedicated to helping her patients overcome any fears of dentistry they may have. Her commitment to promoting oral health is what makes so many patients request Laura as their hygienist.

Educating her patients is very important to Lynn, and she'll take the extra time needed to help them keep their smiles healthy for a lifetime. She's also always eager to educate herself on current advances in oral hygiene and dentistry - Lynn even went back to school to obtain a license to administer local anesthesia. What she enjoys most about her career is her relationships with her patients and coworkers.

In her spare time, Lynn enjoys staying active with biking, weight training, kayaking, and skiing. She also loves hobbies that involve working with her hands - she's the resident expert on gardening in the office and maintains a stunning garden, and she loves refinishing furniture and cooking too. Just like in her career, Lynn loves trying new things and learning outside of the office. Her motto: "One lifetime is not enough to do it all!"

Naica loves being part of the team, especially how everyone is willing to help each other no matter how busy it gets.
